Account Manager
Location: Sarasota, FL

Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 base salary + commissions on enhancement and new maintenance contract sales

Position Overview

We're seeking an Account Manager who operates with an owner's mindset - someone who manages their book of business like a small branch. You will own P&L performance, lead renewals and sales, and partner closely with operations to drive profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction.

This is not just customer service - this is business leadership.

What You'll Do

Client Management & Retention
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Conduct regular site walks and customer review meetings.
  • Ensure site quality and proactively resolve issues.
  • Maintain a 95%+ client retention rate through responsiveness and service excellence.
  • Initiate and close renewals for maintenance contracts.

Financial & Operational Accountability
  • Review monthly P&L statements to monitor performance and margin health.
  • Partner with operations to resolve profit-impacting issues (labor, materials, subcontractors).
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and job costs for assigned accounts.
  • Fully understand the numbers behind each job and drive continuous performance improvement.
  • Achieve enhancement sales goals and maintain gross margins of 45% or higher.

Sales & Growth
  • Identify, propose, and sell enhancement opportunities to existing clients.
  • Forecast book-of-business growth and track new revenue opportunities.
  • Partner with operations to deliver accurate, timely proposals.
  • Maintain detailed tracking of enhancement and contract sales activity.

Leadership & Coordination
  • Collaborate with production teams on scheduling, pricing, and quality control.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with crew leaders and field teams.
  • Support development of site plans, seasonal color rotations, and enhancement projects.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the company image.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as an Account Manager or Manager in landscape maintenance or related field.
  • Preferred: Two- or four-year degree in landscape horticulture, a related discipline, or business.
  • Knowledge of standard landscape horticultural practices; basic understanding of irrigation and hardscape.
  • Proven success driving profitable growth and high client satisfaction.
  • Ability to manage budgets and understand how field performance impacts branch profitability.
  • Tech-savvy with landscape management software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Must pass background check, MVR review, and drug screening.

Compensation

Base Salary: $80,000-$90,000

Commissions:
  • 2% on new maintenance contracts (annualized revenue, paid over 12 months)
  • Up to 2% on enhancement sales (minimum 45% gross margin)
