The Role
As Account Manager for the Midwest, you'll be the link between our platform and our customers' success.
You will own a book of mid-market and enterprise accounts, primarily in row crops. Your mandate is clear: keep customers, grow them, and win new ones.
Your First 30 Days
- Learn your portfolio: crop mix, acreage, priorities, platform usage, renewal timelines, and account health.
- Meet key stakeholders across each account, from agronomy and farm management teams to operations leaders and ownership groups.
- Partner with the Global Director - Row Crops and the broader commercial team on account transitions and growth plans.
- Map your territory's prospect landscape.
What You'll Do
Retain and grow your book of business
- Own a portfolio of mid-market and enterprise accounts, primarily in row crops, driving renewals and resolving escalations quickly.
- Deepen existing relationships through regular check-ins, in-season support, customer site visits, and industry trade shows and grower events.
- Lead regular business reviews focused on ROI, renewals, and next opportunities.
- Expand accounts through upsells, additional acreage, and new products and features.
Develop new business
- Source and close new business with large direct agribusinesses, processors, and ag capital groups through referrals, industry networks, and outreach.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast in Salesforce.
Drive adoption and measurable value
- Be the primary point of contact for customers using the Ceres AI platform.
- Help customers build Ceres imagery and analytics into their workflows and turn insights into outcomes: input and water efficiency, crop performance, and portfolio risk.
Partner across Ceres
- Work with sales leadership on renewals, expansion strategy, and enterprise pursuits.
- Coordinate with flight operations and the science team to deliver on schedule and to standard.
- Bring structured customer feedback to product and engineering to shape the roadmap.
Requirements
Must Have
- Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field, plus 5+ years in agribusiness, ag technology, crop advisory, or ag consulting.
- Proven track record growing mid-market or enterprise accounts through renewals and upsells, and closing new business.
- Strong working knowledge of large-scale row crop operations.
- Familiarity with precision ag or remote sensing, and the ability to translate data into operational and financial value.
- Clear, confident communication with both field teams and executives.
- Proficiency with Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
- Residence in the Midwest and willingness to travel up to 40%.
Nice to Have
- Established relationships with large direct agribusinesses, processors, and/or agricultural capital investment groups.
- Hands-on experience with aerial or satellite imagery, NDVI, thermal imagery, or precision ag platforms.
- Background in ag SaaS, subscription services, or enterprise account management.
- Exposure to permanent or specialty crops.
How Success Is Measured
Within your first 90 days you will have:
- Taken full ownership of your portfolio and built trusted relationships at each account.
- Built an active new business pipeline in your territory.
- Delivered a retention and growth plan covering renewal risks and expansion priorities.
Ongoing, success is measured by gross and net revenue retention, expansion revenue, and new business closed.
