What You'll Do as an Account Director

As an Account Director, you'll be a core leader in how we show up for clients and deliver exceptional work. You will:

  • Lead client accounts, building trusted client relationships rooted in clarity, thoughtfulness, and strategic insight
  • Develop scopes, budgets, timelines, and strategic plans
  • Guide and review deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and impact
  • Identify opportunities for client growth and expanded support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Insights, Strategy, Portfolio and Engagement
  • Mentor Project Delivery team members and help build the next generation of account leaders
  • Contribute to operational excellence and continuous improvement

Who You Are

You'll excel in this role if you are:

  • A strong communicator with excellent client relationship skills
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, projects, and teams
  • Skilled at translating complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives
  • Experienced in agency or consulting environments (food, health, FMCG a plus)
  • Thoughtful, proactive, and calm under pressure
  • Comfortable with budgeting, forecasting, and delivery oversight
  • Energized by collaboration and committed to being a supportive team member

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience identifying client needs and translating pain points or insights into clear opportunities, solutions, or new work
  • Previous exposure to business development, strategic scoping, or organic growth planning

Experience:

  • 5-8+ years in account management, project leadership, consulting, or communications roles
  • RD or scientific background is a plus, not required
  • RD, scientific, or marketing background is a plus, not a requirement
  • If you have experience or curiosity in things like metrics, social media, health equity, policy, nutrient profiling, or sustainability, that's a great bonus - but absolutely not a requirement
