Full Job Description
Our Clean Mobility Division is looking for an Account Director, Ford CBU based in Auburn Hills Michigan. The Account Director is the primary commercial leader for Ford platforms and owns the customer relationship from pre-acquisition through end of life. This role drives business growth to secure profitable launches and supports product development by aligning customer requirements with engineering manufacturing and purchasing teams. The Account Director is accountable for platform budget ownership strategic planning and commercial inputs that impact overall platform performance.

Strategic Planning and Customer Management:
  • Develop and maintain strong senior level relationships with Ford purchasing engineering and STA teams
  • Own joint technology roadmap by platform and drive innovation with Ford
  • Understand market pricing, evolution, customer targets and competitive landscape
  • Identify and develop new business and growth opportunities within Ford

Pre-Acquisition and Acquisition:
  • Lead market study and value proposition alignment with Clean Mobility Division leadership
  • Identify pre-development opportunities and secure co-development with Ford
  • Define and execute acquisition strategy by platform
  • Lead acquisition process within Forvia system
  • Ensure commercial technical and financial alignment to secure profitable awards

Development Phase
  • Ensure customer satisfaction in timing, quality cost and product performance
  • Support launch execution and achieve internal and customer milestones
  • Conduct regular internal and customer program reviews
  • Analyze P&L variances and drive corrective action plans
  • Address Ford requirements including VAVE warranty reduction and ECR execution

Serial Life and End of Life:
  • Support customer satisfaction plans and improve Ford scorecard performance
  • Own platform squeeze R&D P&L operational P&L and cash
  • Manage transition from end of production to past model service
  • Oversee end of life activities for all assigned programs

Team Leadership:
  • Lead coach and develop Sales managers assigned to the Ford platform
  • Build strong team culture with accountability, ownership and collaboration
  • Demonstrate strong work ethics and execution mindset


Your profile and competencies to succeed

  • Master's degree in engineering business administration or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in product or program development
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or key account management
  • Ford Motor Company experience or strong OEM background preferred
  • Strong financial acumen with proven P&L ownership
  • Strong leadership communication and decision-making capability
  • Ability to set priorities and make quick tough decisions
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with high ethical standards
