The Department of Psychiatry, in the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, invites applications invite applications for a Contingent Term appointment at the Associate Professor level.

We are seeking an academic psychiatrist to support clinical care in adolescent eating disorders while leading the development of a transdisciplinary educational program. Building on the success of the One Child Initiative and multiple CIHR and government-funded Integrated Youth Services (IYS) projects, this position will provide academic and clinical expertise in adolescent mental health, program design, and evaluation. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued development of the IYS model on campus, enhancing its educational content, evaluation framework, and integration with broader mental health and wellness initiatives. The role will also include leadership responsibilities as Co-Director of Residency Training and oversight of a specialized clinical program serving youth with complex eating disorder presentations.

Qualifications include an MD, certification in Psychiatry (FRCPC), accredited subspecialty training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and eligibility for regular licensure in the Province of Alberta. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in adolescent mental health, educational leadership, and program development, with more than 10 years of educational experience. The successful candidate will receive 50% protected academic time, primarily focused on education, scholarship, program development, and evaluation. Experience in leading interdisciplinary initiatives, developing innovative educational programs, and advancing academic excellence in child and adolescent mental health will be considered strong assets.
