Required Related Experience ACGME RequirementsApplicants must meet the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Dermatology Program Director requirements outlined in Section 2.5, Qualifications of the Program Director, including:
ACGME Program Requirements- Current board certification in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology or American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology
- Specialty expertise in Dermatology
- Minimum of one year of documented experience serving as a core faculty member for an ACGME-accredited dermatology program
- Minimum of three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience
- Demonstrated ongoing clinical activity in Dermatology
Required Experience- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Dermatology Residency Program
- Experience in academic or teaching environments, preferably
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications or scholarly presentations in dermatology
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across specialties and participate in multidisciplinary care.
Required License/Registration/Certification Eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
Job Summary The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine invites applications for a full-time Academic Dermatologist to join the Division of Dermatology. The ideal candidate will be board-certified or board-eligible in dermatology and have demonstrated excellence in clinical care, dermatopathology, medical education, program development, and scholarly activity. Candidates with experience leading or developing residency training programs, including serving as a Residency Program Director for a new or inaugural residency program, are particularly encouraged to apply. This position includes opportunities for clinical practice, teaching medical students and residents, curriculum development, residency program leadership, and participation in research and academic endeavors. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of academic dermatology at one of the Commonwealth's leading academic health centers, with access to NIH-supported infrastructure, multidisciplinary partners, and patients from varied backgrounds.
The Department of Internal Medicine is the largest in the College of Medicine and at the University of Kentucky with approximately 334 faculty, 157 staff, 214 residents and fellows, and 203 advanced practice providers. The department has 14 clinical divisions and 2 non-clinical divisions within its scope. The department of internal medicine is led by Dr. Darwin L. Conwell, MD, MS, FACG and departmental leaders including Vice Chairs, Associate Vice Chairs, and the Office of the Chair Administration team.
Internal Medicine faculty secure over $35 million in grant funding annually to pursue cutting-edge research and discoveries, supporting projects in all internal medicine subspecialties. The department has published 287 peer-reviewed articles in the past year and maintains more than 50 active clinical trials and 240 active grants and contracts.
