Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for high-risk obstetric patients throughout the entire pregnancy journey.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to create and implement complex care plans for patients with multiple high-risk conditions.
  • Coordinate patient care across various stages, including antepartum concerns and postpartum follow-up.
  • Perform routine diagnostic procedures such as NSTs and ultrasounds when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient encounters in compliance with hospital policies.

Job Details
The Advanced Practice Professional (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Midwife) will work collaboratively with as an integral member of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division at Abington Hospital. This role will be hybrid to encompass inpatient and outpatient care. The APC will provide comprehensive care including but not limited to outpatient and inpatient care, consultation and complex care coordination with direct patient education.

Job Description
  • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Proficiencies): Must be proficient in high risk maternal, medical and fetal care, fetal surveillance, medications in pregnancy, perinatal mental health care, diabetes and hypertension in pregnancy and postpartum, preconception consultation, and perinatal loss. Required education for the role will be supported in this growth environment.
    Required Experience, Education, Certification(s), License(s): Experience as a Women's Health APC is welcome but the right new graduate would be considered for the role. Masters Degree or graduate of an accredited Physican Assistant Program. Certification with the American Midwifery Cerification Board or have earned the WHNP-BC credential from the National Certification Corporation. Must be licensed as an APC in the state of PA with prescriptive authority.
    Preferred Experience, Education, Certification(s), License(s): C-EFM, Experience in a high-risk, high-volume, academic and patient-centered obstetrical care setting preferred, however applicants from all care settings welcome to apply.
