Job Summary

At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered.
The Sr. IT Manager focuses on the delivery, maintenance and refinement of Operating Technology (OT) Networks and business processes to maximize business results. This role involves strategic product planning and managing technology systems for business mission critical operations. Responsibilities extend to coordinating with IT groups for troubleshooting and system enhancements, leading system installations, upgrades, and maintaining system operations. The leader must also partner effectively with a wide range of teams, including business leaders, delivery teams and external partners. The Sr. IT Manager embodies leadership and organizational influence, defining long-term technology strategies and leading major system enhancements. This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure Products & Services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all Operational Technology (OT) platforms to ensure reliable, secure, and integrated performance across real-time operations, distribution automation, and AMI systems.
  • Manage and develop technical staff and vendors, ensuring application availability meets SLAs, business needs, and operational expectations.
  • Drive and deliver business unit projects, partnering with IT and business leaders to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and execute against defined outcomes and ROI criteria.
  • Develop and implement product strategies aligned with PSEG's goals, leveraging market and customer insights to guide technology innovation.
  • Direct senior-level troubleshooting and crisis management to maintain high availability and continuous improvement of critical OT systems.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts, licensing, and cost optimization efforts, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines and supporting effective resource allocation.
  • Ensure project execution meets quality, schedule, and budget requirements under the IT PMO Stage Gate Process, providing timely status and operational updates to leadership.
  • Maintain cybersecurity and regulatory compliance, including NERC CIP, through comprehensive patching, vulnerability management, remediation, documentation, and audit readiness.


Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of technology solution engineering experience (15+ years without a degree).
  • Extensive technical and functional experience supporting IT systems, ideally OT or other missioncritical utility systems.
  • Proven ability to translate business and technical requirements into architecturalaligned solution designs for new or enhanced technologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership through solution ownership, project delivery, and team or crossfunctional engagement.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to work independently, multitask effectively, and apply system monitoring tools for rapid issue resolution.
  • Experience with cybersecurity concepts, best practices, and overall technology resource management including staffing, career paths, recruiting, and compensation.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; ability to build strong relationships across IT, management, and client departments. Preferred experience in telecommunications, networking, and electric distribution operations.

  • Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
