Full Job Description
Job Objective:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Settlement Accounting Analyst to manage the critical intersection of operations, marketing, accounting, and master data integrity. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate nominations, imbalances, invoicing and reconciling complex sales data. You will serve as a key liaison between Marketing, Division Order (DO), and Revenue Accounting to ensure our financial bookings and operational data remain synchronized.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Build forward month nominations and Available for Sale (AFS) Statements to TIK marketers in EMK3 for gas marketing.
  • Responsible for solving daily gas marketing questions and issues surrounding well completions operational status, ownership, and marketing arrangements.
  • Prepares sales variance analysis and explains major sales fluctuations for assigned properties monthly
  • Ability to evaluate pricing/deductions and coordinate subsequent PRA master data setup to achieve accurate revenue bookings for owners and regulatory agencies
  • Performs special projects that require knowledge of oil and gas revenue accounting
  • Coordinate interdepartmental efforts for changes in TIK/JOA status, including managing contract change processes. Responsible for solving daily interdepartmental issues regarding TIK/JOA status among DO and gas marketing.
  • Assisting in supporting Marketing and Accounting in A&D activity
  • Execute master data updates in SAP for:
  • Advise DO on changes to gas balancing owner/marketer/transporter changes
  • Work with Non-Op Revenue, DO and Gas Marketing groups to facilitate Non-Op TIK changes in decks, EMK3 and revenue processes.
  • Lead or assist in implementation of business functionality for new modules in EMK3 as needed for:
  • Marketing of non-operated TIK positions
  • Gas imbalance feeds, GBA agreement terms and makeup/payback functionality
  • Deal Capture to improve gas scheduling and invoicing processes.
  • Process gas marketing accounting invoicing for Gas and NGL sales out of EMK3 as well as gathering fees for aggregate and other special case wells.
  • Work with revenue team to ensure marketing invoices are tied out to plant statements.
  • Work closely with all members of gas marketing, revenue, land, division order, production accounting and IT to accomplish responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in producer oil and gas accounting, data analysis, or oil and gas systems implementation.
  • Excellent data analysis skills and ability to work with large volumes of data regardless of the software platform.
  • Excellent business analyst and facilitation skills to ensure success of interdepartmental responsibilities and challenges.
  • Excellent systems implementation skills or technical oil and gas accounting skills.
  • Understanding of the treatment of working interest owners from a gas contract allocation and balancing perspective and ability to relate this to the overall interdepartmental process.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Ability to schedule work tasks to ensure on time completion.
  • Flexibility to change directions or project teams as needed required.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization from staff accountants to executives.
  • Understanding of how to use software effectively to facilitate processes within the ERP or gas marketing system as well as outside the system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to present solutions in an organized manner.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
    • Required: Microsoft Office (Expert Excel skills, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
    • SAP, Enertia, EMK3, or Quorum experience preferred
    • Alteryx and SQL experience strongly preferred

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a major in accounting, data analysis or information systems.
