Competition Number: 2026-048 Position: Chief Financial Officer Department: Finance Employment Status: Full-Time Salary: $60- $78/HR - 35 Hours per Week Location: Naughton, ON Closing Date: July 8, 2026, at 4:00pm **AT THIS TIME, WE WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FROM CURRENT INTERNAL EMPLOYEES AND BAND MEMBERS** POSITION SCOPE: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading and managing the financial operations of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, including financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis. The CFO serves as the organization's senior financial authority and a strategic advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, Gimaa, and Council. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor's degree or a College Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) designation is preferred;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in management and accounting, including extensive experience with financial statements and audit preparation;
  • Experience in financial administration within a complex organizational, public sector, First Nation, or government-funded environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure financial sustainability for operations and long-term initiatives
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable financial legislation, policies, and funding agreements
  • Review departmental budgets and consolidate the annual organizational budget
