Job Summary At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered. Direct the activities of Test Engineers in the Metrology and Instrumentation Services Group and the Mechanical Systems Performance Group, providing technical solutions to client needs.
Develop and deliver Metrology and Instrumentation Services for all Electrical Transmission and Distribution locations, consistent with client expectations.
Provide direction and technical expertise to achieve organizational financial and operational objectives.
Ensure continuous improvement of self and group personnel.
Responsible for daily supervision, monitoring and coaching of employees to ensure a productive workforce in compliance with company policies, procedures and collective bargaining agreements.
Responsibilities include work planning, on-the-job training, testing, inspection, and initiating requisitions for procurement of tools, materials, equipment, etc
Responsible for the calibration and repair of client and internal instrument test and measuring equipment and ensuring personnel are knowledgeable of and in compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
Support client-specific programs, such as maintenance programs, PM/PdM programs, etc.
Job Responsibilities- Develop and execute calibration, repair, and testing services to meet business needs and client expectations.
- Achieve departmental financial, and operational goals
- Responsible for ensuring calibration, repair, and testing activities are executed with established procedures and work instructions, and QA/Regulatory requirements so as to ensure technical accuracy of work performed.
- Responsible for supervising the activities of Group personnel so as to meet client expectations while ensuring a safe work environment.
- Train, coach & counsel in strengthening technical skills and building teamwork.
- Communicate with Manager on a routine basis to ensure high standards and client expectations are met.
- Ensure implementation of corporate and department policies.
- Plan, schedule and execute work in a cost-efficient manner.
- Communicate with Clients to resolve problems and to effectively utilize resources .
- Consult with clients in developing solutions to specialized calibration, repair, and testing requirements.
- Application of the IBEW Agreement and the Positive Discipline Process.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by Management.
Job Specific Qualifications- BS Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Two years of related supervisory experience.
Technical knowledge in the area of Metrology, instrument calibration and repair. - Demonstrated interpersonal, written and computer skills including knowledge and proficiency in MS Office Suite products.
- Demonstrated good verbal communication skills.
- A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (see https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this position by May 7, 2027.
- Must meet and maintain nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access.
