Full Job Description
MSRC is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will support defense-focused manufacturing, technology, and engineering initiatives. The Project Engineer will serve as a key coordinator bridging technical engineering developments and program management milestones. The ideal candidate will have a solid engineering foundation, experience in manufacturing or production environments, and familiarity with Department of War (DoW) / Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide project engineering and coordination support for manufacturing technology initiatives and defense-related programs.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Offices, customers, engineering teams, and manufacturing vendors to align efforts, gather critical data, and ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of comprehensive program reviews, technical briefings, and progress updates using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Coordinate and facilitate technical status meetings, ensuring clear communication pathways between multi-disciplinary engineering teams and leadership.
  • Manage, organize, and compile technical reports, plans, schedules, and programmatic documentation to ensure overall project readiness.
  • Monitor project milestones, identify technical risks, and support the development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Apply engineering principles to evaluate project requirements, optimize processes, and assist with trade studies as needed.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in an accredited Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, Chemical, Materials, or related field) or equivalent technical/scientific experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior engineering experience in a Department of War (DoW) or defense aerospace environment is required.
  • Manufacturing technology experience is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working within manufacturing, production, or prototype development environments.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) to track progress, compile data, and build professional presentations.

Additional Requirements:

  • Active Secret DoD Clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain a clearance.
  • Candidate must currently possess or be able to obtain an active security clearance.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
