Responsibilities

Job Description
We are seeking a 1031 Exchange Officer to join our team! The 1031 Exchange Officer is a dynamic professional role. The candidate is hired to help solicit new IRS Section 1031 Quailed Exchanges. The position solicits new business through the development of business and industry relationships with centers of influence (COIs) including but not limited to CPAs, Attorneys, Realtors, and Escrow and Title Officers. Additionally, the 1031 Exchange Officer will acquire direct client relationships through attending community events, building relationships in the community and soliciting opportunities to meet individual investors who will need the services of a 1031 Exchange. This position will serve as a liaison between the COIs, the customers and the 1031 Exchange team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  1. Build, develop, and maintain relationships with new customers and COIs.
  2. Develop and implement the proactive market development process.
  3. Deepen Relationships and capitalize on opportunities to expand business; refer clients to other bank areas for additional needs.
  4. Generate leads and referrals from a variety of sources through networking in the community.
  5. Develop a thorough familiarity and knowledge of the I.R.C. Section 1031 Exchange regulations.
  6. Develop an understanding of the elements of all variations of a 1031 exchange; i.e. Simultaneous, Build to Suit, Forward, Reverse and Personal Property.
  7. Ultimately learn to Interpret and apply the regulations to complex transactional issues.
  8. Generate and maintain a database of contacts.
  9. Participate in industry activities, attend educational seminars, seek and schedule presentations where opportunities for business may exist.
  10. Take an active role in the "FEA" organization.
  11. Represent the company in various community and civic functions and events to further enhance the company's image and develop additional business.
  12. Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers, COIs and employees.

Experience and Skills
Requirements:
  • Two or more years of sales experience.
  • Basic experience, knowledge and training in banking wire activities, terminology and safe practices.
  • Prior experience in 1031 related fields such as real estate, escrow, title, legal, paralegal, accounting or CPA offices.
  • Possess strong written/verbal communication skills as well as excellent organizational/time management skills.
  • Project a businesslike professionalism to the client in both appearance and manner.
  • Possess a strong customer service orientation, and a willingness to place the customer first.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
  • Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage as required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

Target Compensation: $105,000 annually, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus.
