Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Configuration Data Management Specialist 3 (CM3) professional experienced with a hardware development program to provide expertise and leadership in database development, maintenance and configuration control of various CM&DM products for the Space Launch System (SLS) Program at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). This position will provide expertise in configuration control of relational database products including management of requirements data. It will also provide data entry support and generation of custom reporting from SLS databases such as ICE-Cradle. This position will provide CDM support as part of the SLS System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) under the Lead Systems Engineer (LSE). Successful implementation requires initiative and flexibility to meet program milestones and hardware development metrics.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain relational database products including database development, report generation and data entry- currently using ICE-Cradle.
• Support CM best practices within the database environment.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of all SLS CM&DM database related Work Instructions.
• Interface with personnel across the SLS Program and Element Offices.
• Support the SLS Configuration and Data Management (CDM) Office and the SLS/Element LSEs in CM&DM related process implementations.
• Handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), ITAR and other export control or proprietary data following NASA and MSFC requirements and guidelines
• Provide recommendations for improvements to CM&DM processes.
Job Specifications:
• Bachelor's degree or associate degree with experience equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience to include Configuration Management is required.
• Working knowledge of the CDM technical discipline, including controlling data within the database environment, is required.
• Significant experience with relational database administration using database tools such as Cradle, Oracle, SQL Database, SQL Server or similar is required. Current Cradle expertise is preferred.
• Working knowledge in database management and administration is required.
• Applicable industry certifications such as NDIA CDM Specialist/Manager are desired.
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to obtain clearance/access onsite at NASA MSFC is required (requires a STAR ID for badging).
• US Citizenship required.
