Who We Are Looking For: We are seeking a
Project Accountant to own the accounting for our capital projects and government-funded programs. You will track capital expenditures and construction in progress
across our facility build-outs, manage project cost reporting, and own the capitalization of assets
as projects are placed in service.
The ideal candidate has done project or construction accounting in a capital-intensive
environment, understands what auditors and government sponsors expect from cost
documentation, and is comfortable working directly with project managers and engineers.
Key Responsibilities:- Capital Projects: Track capital expenditures by project; maintain construction in progress (CIP) schedules and monitor budget-to-actual spend.
- Capitalization: Determine appropriate capitalization treatment under GAAP; place assets in service and establish depreciation on completion.
- Fixed Assets: Maintain the fixed asset register for project-related assets, including additions,
transfers, disposals, and impairment considerations. - Government Programs: Own accounting and cost tracking for government-funded programs
and grants, including allowability, allocation, and documentation requirements. - Reporting: Prepare project cost reporting and drawdown or invoicing submissions for
sponsors and funding agencies. - Close: Execute project-related close activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Audit and Compliance: Prepare project and grant audit schedules; support sponsor and
single audit requirements. - Partnership: Work directly with project managers, engineering, and procurement to ensure project costs are captured accurately and on time.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CPA-track preferred.
- 3+ years of project, construction, or capital accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of GAAP capitalization rules for property, plant, and equipment.
- Experience with government-funded programs, grants, or cost-reimbursable contracts strongly preferred; familiarity with 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) is a plus.
- Experience with an ERP system; NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large project cost datasets.
- Ability to work directly with non-finance project stakeholders and hold them to documentation standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
What We OfferThis pay range reflects best estimate for the total cash compensation which includes salary +
discretionary bonus for this role. Total package may vary based on experience and qualifications.
Pay Range: $115,000 - $155,000 total cash compensation plus equity
