Summary

Support the CI manager/team in the development of CI (Lean and Six Sigma) vision for one or more customers or departments, and the strategy deployment plans to deliver that strategy. Participate in and lead continuous improvement activities in support of the plan. Build knowledge of the CI fundamentals through training and participating in CI activities. Able to work under moderate supervision. Manage resources to effectively help execute the strategy deployment plans.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Contribute to and support the execution of the Yearly CI activities plan and ensure that project goals are met
  • Participant in the Gemba (Go and See) activities, perform weekly Improvement activities, and provides the suggestion to the Kaizen team
  • Participate in or lead process improvement based CI workshops. Example: External Kaizen Workshop, Internal Kaizen Workshop and VSM
  • Support the delivery of performance results that directly contribute to site and corporate performance
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis
  • Perform Daily Improvement Activity with area owner
  • Support and lead Line Balancing for process improvement
  • Identify good practices for possible deployment to other customers/departments
  • Support the delivery of CI training, leading specific training topics
  • Work to achieve CI for Employees and CI for Leadership certifications

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in generally good conditions with occasional exposure (10% - 33%) to noise, odours, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
Duties may require regular periods of sitting and/or standing and sustained visual concentration on observing operations. Repetitive manual movements (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, time studies, assembling workstations/racking, labeling, floor taping, etc., as applicable) are regularly required.
Occasional overnight travel is required.

Typical Experience

2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
CI experience, either in manufacturing or office environments

Typical Education

Bachelor Degree or Two or Three Year Community College Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
