Position Spec: Operations Analyst - Scheduling

The Operations Analyst - Scheduling will be a key member of BETM's Operations team and will be responsible for scheduling functions for various assets & markets. We are looking for a highly analytical, motivated, data-driven leader, who will serve as a trusted business partner for our clients. You must be passionate about using your talents to manage growth & elevate business performance. The successful candidate must adhere to highest standards of ethics & integrity as well as possess the following key competencies:
• Subject matter expertise; develops and maintains expert level knowledge in market scheduling rules such as generation and bilateral submissions, capacity markets, outage scheduling, and renewable energy credits.
• Data-driven & detail oriented; must be able to utilize market expertise to assist in implementation of daily bidding strategy for our Energy Management Agreement clients. Must be able to sort through data to validate bidding strategy in a daily deadline driven environment.
• Technology focused; leverages BETM's proprietary platform for trade capture, market integration, reporting & analytics to drive continuous process improvement
• Hands-on Leader; capable of influencing positive outcomes in a variety of group dynamics
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Maintains a fundamental knowledge of all ISO market rules
• Ensures daily scheduling activities are completed accurately and within required timeframes
• Leverages technology to manage daily processes, drive automation and improve business outcomes
• Monitors ISO business rule changes to ensure they are appropriately incorporated into scheduling activities
• Participates in ISO sponsored training to maintain up to date knowledge of market changes
• Cross-trains with other Operations team members to expand market knowledge across diverse functions (i.e. Settlements)
• Works closely with other team members, including Trade Accountants, Traders, and external parties (i.e., ISO & client staff) to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
• Boston Energy Trading and Marketing currently has a hybrid working environment

Qualifications & Experiences
• Knowledge of scheduling, settlement & reliability rules in one or more organized markets: PJM, NYISO, ISNE, MISO, ERCOT, SPP, and CAISO
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills: ability to implement new processes, multi-task, and adjust priorities without direction
• Three to five years' experience in energy scheduling, settlement, dispatch or related commercial energy environment preferred
• Technically savvy; able to improve processes through development of automated tools
• Highly analytical with demonstrated passion to move beyond surface-level knowledge. Must truly seek to understand how and why markets and systems function, and be willing to do the hard work necessary to figure it out
• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience required; advanced degree in a business or analytical discipline preferred.
• Certification in PJM, ISO-NE or NERC a plus.

Range: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00
