Job Title: Director of Dementia Research

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Position Overview: A renowned Neurological Institute is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Dementia Research to lead and expand the robust research programs at the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. The successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree and have a proven track record in Alzheimer's disease and related disorders research, with qualifications suitable for appointment as an Associate or Full Professor.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to grow and enhance the research program at the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
Research Development: Direct, support, and mentor research teams in Las Vegas, collaborating with investigators at other locations.
Investigational Pursuits: Lead research initiatives focused on clinically relevant knowledge and improved therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
Collaboration: Play a major role in NIH-funded centers, including the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and the COBRE Center for Neurodegeneration and Translational Neuroscience.
Representation: Act as a national and international representative of the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, advocating for expanded Alzheimer's services and research.
Sustainability: Manage philanthropic resources and NIH funding to maintain the center's status as the largest research revenue generator within the Neurological Institute.
Clinical Practice: Build a subspecialty clinic aligned with research interests, recruit patients for studies, and conduct participant study visits.

Qualifications:

Doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant field.
Extensive research experience in Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
Proven success in securing research funding and leading research teams.
Qualifications for an academic appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level.
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
