Overview

RES is looking for a General Manager professional that drives processes that align people, operations and strategy, and execution to achieve the region’s goals. This position is based out of our Florida region.

The Mission: The GM supports RES’s culture by modeling the behaviors that support its core values and driving collaboration across regions and functions. The GM drives growth in advisory services, mitigation banking, coastal resiliency, and turnkey project delivery.

What your day-to-day might look like?

Primary responsibilities:

Champion a growth-oriented mindset. Drive organic growth via sales, business development, and strategic partnerships. Ensure the team builds a pipeline mix of short and long-term opportunities.

Own the financial plan. Know the numbers. Prioritize resources to ensure the targets are achieved.

Mentor and coach. Successfully hire, develop, and grow key talent for RES. Act as a mentor and coach. Set your organizational structure and own it - have front-line leadership to manage the business. Ensure the right people are in the right roles. Develop high-performing teams.

Manage change. Build a compelling case for introducing and leading change. Create consensus when appropriate while recognizing the need to be decisive and take a stand. Follow through.

Create alignment. Develop relationships with senior-level personnel and promote their success by aligning their roles and capabilities with our strategies. Advance innovative project delivery methods to differentiate RES in the market.

Execute. Drive execution excellence. Visit projects to build relationships and provide direction and leadership. Know projects and develop first-hand visibility. Manage a team to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Drive our culture. Reinforce “how we do things” by embracing RES’ core values. Emphasize the importance of recruiting and onboarding, transparent communications, teamwork, problem-solving, and positive accountability.

Desired Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applied sciences, engineering, or similar field

· 10+ years of total progressive experience in an applied sciences, engineering, or construction setting, with 5+ years of aggregate experience in project management, managing a P&L and/or team leadership

· Experience acting as a “seller-doer” in a role with business development and project delivery responsibilities

· Existing relationships with State, County, and City government officials in Florida

· Existing relationships with key stakeholders, including USACE, IRT, FDOT, FDEP, Water Management Districts, NOAA, etc

· Experience with relevant environmental regulations and permits/approvals (e.g. CWA 404/401/402, NWP/IP, ESA)
