The Opportunity:

Perkins Eastman has an immediate need for an Intermediate Project Designer for our New York, NY studio. Some domestic and ational travel involved.

Primary Responsibilities:

Research, plan, design and administer building projects under direct supervision of licensed architect.
Consult with domestic and ational clients under direct supervision of licensed architect regarding functional and spatial uirements for new structure or renovation, and prepare design and specification documents. Plan layout of projects and integrate engineering elements into design for client review and approval of design and documentation of large scale resential and commercial projects.
Prepare scale drawings and documents for building ors.
Use CAD software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.
Assist with project feasibility development and site evaluation, zoning, parking, building location, exterior movement systems, and solar orientation.
Develop test fits.
Assist with master planning services including site and building components, interior movement systems, blocking and stacking.
Analyze comparative systems with engineers and consultants regarding structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical disciplines.
Work with specifications team, consultants, and vendors regarding technical specifications development.
Assist Project r to develop statements of probable construction cost.
Prepare area calculations to accord with ABOA and BOMA standards.
building information modeling for digital project components including BIM execution plan.
Assist with construction administration of project including independent submittal review, RFI investigation and response, and limited site observation.
sustainability ment and research for projects, including design element incorporation, task level ment, scheduling, and checklist development.
Assist Project r and studio team with work plans and permit process.
Perform design activities including IBC, ANSI/ADA code research, material and building systems research, lay out program components, and refine design options and develop building details.

uired Qualifications:

Must have Bachelor’s of Architecture or related field with 7 s relevant experience with design and documentation of large scale resential and commercial projects, which must include both domestic and ational experience, and uired skills (7 s experience).
In the alternative, must have Master’s of Architecture or related field with 6 s relevant experience with design and documentation of large scale resential and commercial projects, which must include both domestic and ational experience, and uired skills (6 s experience).
