Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team: This involves fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. The VP also ensures the successful execution of engineering projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Develop and implement engineering strategies: The VP works closely with other executives to align engineering goals with overall business objectives. They define and execute the engineering roadmap, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products.
Oversee product development and technical operations: This includes overseeing the design, testing, and validation of new golf cart models. The VP also focuses on integrating new technologies and methodologies into engineering practices
Responsible for aligning the engineering development road map with the strategic vision of the PTV division, with focus on continuous improvement of the parts fulfillment process.
Work with corporate leadership to drive growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction by streamlining parts supply chains, and leveraging new design technology.
Identify opportunities to introduce new product lines, bring innovative products to the market, and round out our product offerings to position Nivel as a continued leader in the PTV industry.
Collaborate with other departments: The VP collaborates with cross-functional teams, such as product management, manufacturing, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of engineering efforts.
Ensure compliance with regulations and standards: The VP ensures that all engineering activities related to mechanical systems are compliant with applicable regulations, standards, and best practices.
Manage resources and budget: The VP is responsible for managing the engineering department's budget and resources effectively to ensure project completion within constraints.
Risk management: The VP identifies and mitigates risks associated with engineering projects, including performance, safety, and program risks.
Mentorship and development: The VP mentors and coaches team members, fostering a culture of knowledge transfer and professional development.
Problem solving: The VP provides guidance and recommendations on critical solutions to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications:

Experience: Requires significant experience in product engineering, typically a minimum of 8+ years.
Experience in vehicle design/development, on or off-road is a plus.
Understanding of vehicle certification processes is a plus.
Background in manufacturing is required.
Business case development including Market Research & Analysis, Pricing, cannibalization, and ROI.
Product Design & Development including Concept development, 3D Design, SolidWorks, prototyping, testing, production readiness.
Education: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, an advanced degree in engineering, business management, or computer science a plus.
Leadership skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong leadership qualities.
Technical Expertise: Knowledge of engineering systems, design documentation, and testing and validation processes are important. Expertise in mechanical repairs, electrical systems, and maintenance procedures is essential.
