Hello Alpha is seeking a Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO), Clinical Operations with a passion for patient advocacy and improving the way people access healthcare today.

Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Clinical Operations shares responsibility for the day-to-day operational efficiency of physician care and supervision, development of standard operating procedures, and provision of direct patient care. Working as a partner with the Chief Medical Officer, Associate Medical Directors and Clinical Operations, you will provide real-time analysis and recommendations for improvement in clinical operations across multiple provider levels. In addition, the position will work closely with the leadership and Local Management Team (LMT) to help provide high-quality and efficient health care. The DCMO, Clinical Operations will demonstrate a commitment to and understanding of Alpha Medical’s mission, and commitment to service excellence standards in the performance of all duties and responsibilities.

This role is ~50% direct patient care and 50% operations.

Works with other clinical operations leaders to ensure provider staffing levels are met in order to treat patients in a timely manner
Leads the design and implementation of Provider Staffing Plans that ensure operational efficiency, productivity, and quality care metrics are met
Responsible for ensuring productivity and patient satisfaction goals for all providers are met with high-quality care
Partners with fellow AMDs and CMO, to design, implement, and evaluate ongoing medical/clinical protocols to be followed in Alpha Telemedicine’s practice areas
Assists other clinical team leaders with coaching, supervision, and discipline of team providers as needed
Provides operational supervision to Alpha Telemedicine Physicians
Works with recruiting to screen and assist in hiring new providers, as directed by the Chief Medical Officer
Participates in the Credentialing and Peer Review Committee and process
Participates in Quality Assurance Program requiring peer review, chart review, and coaching as necessary to ensure quality targets and goals are met
Participates as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee and assists with executing process improvement programs both system-wide and department-wide
Assists in maintenance of Alpha Telemedicine’s knowledge-base and training materials
Writes and delivers Annual Performance Appraisals of supervised staff members and assists the CMO when necessary
Leads department-specific meetings and administrative tasks as assigned by CMO
Performs other job-related duties as required by the CMO
Clinical
Provides patient care to patients
Assesses and manages acute and chronic medical conditions
Provides supervision of the clinical staffing including serving as a collaborative physician for APPs as assigned by CMO; This collaborative role includes giving practical guidance to providers and signing off reviewed charts according to state requirements and policies/procedures
Completes and maintains patient records in accordance with procedures utilizing our internal electronic health record system
Compliance
Ensures telemedicine services comply with regulatory agency requirements, contractual obligations, and funding sources
Monitors and ensures compliance with evidence-based clinical guidelines in general medicine, women’s health, and other specialty care
Under the direction of the CMO, participates in the Clinical Risk Management program to reduce the risk of adverse events and outcomes that could result in harm to patients, medical malpractice or other health or health-related litigation; reviews and updates risk management policies and operating procedures, as needed
Participates in the review, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure medical practices are in full compliance with regulatory requirements
Oversees the maintenance of records/documents in accordance with clinic policies and procedures, contractual obligations, regulations, and funding sources
Partners with key stakeholders to gather and analyze metrics pertaining to patient care and satisfaction

A valid and unrestricted Medical License in the United States
Graduated from an accredited allopathic US Medical School
Board-certified in Internal or Family medicine with a practice foundation in Women’s Reproductive Health
A current DEA registration (all schedules)
At least 3 years of providing telemedicine care
Strong management and leadership skills
Strong understanding of standard operating procedures, clinical protocols, and their development
Experience managing an integrated and multi-functional primary healthcare team.
Competency in providing patient evaluation and treatment
Understanding of current medical, educational, and psychosocial intervention procedures
Ability to perform clinical duties within established guidelines in an organized, efficient manner
Ability to relate and communicate well to all cultural and ethnic groups in the community including fluency in written and spoken English

Onboarding: Meet with Key Partners (AMDs, Clinical Leadership Team)
Onboarding: Create a recurring weekly touch base with CMO
Onboarding: Complete and become signed off on patient training
