Position Overview:

The Enterprise Architect will report to the Director of Engineering and will partner with various technology leads and business strategy to build out future state roadmaps and corresponding plans for each business domain. This role will first focus on understanding the current state application and technology ecosystem supporting each business domain and how their core business capabilities are supported by this ecosystem. The Enterprise Architect will define a future state ecosystem that supports all current and future state business and technical capabilities effectively and define a roadmap for each business area to migrate from the current to the future state as well as a holistic view of Acadian’s enterprise architecture.

In addition to roadmaps and future state planning this role will also partner closely with Platform Architecture on technology governance and adherence. This will ensure that the technology delivery teams focused on each business domain are abiding by our architectural principals and leveraging solutions that exist within other teams when appropriate. The Enterprise Architect will perform technical design reviews for key solutions within each business delivery area and will lead some cross-departmental business and technology initiatives such as the evaluation, planning, and design for our future state Datawarehouse environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the core business functions of an asset manager, familiarity with key industry standard systems and solutions, strong technical background to ensure that solutions are designed and built appropriately and have experience working on large scale roadmaps, plans, and delivery to enable better business outcomes.

Acadian supports a hybrid work environment, employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.

What You’ll Do:

Lead the effort to document the current state ecosystem, technical and business capabilities, holistically and for each major business function.
Lead the effort to define the future state ecosystem, technical and business capabilities, holistically and for each major business function.
Lead the effort to define a multi-year roadmap and plan to migrate towards the future state, holistically and for each major business function. This roadmap should be revisited periodically to ensure any changes in business or technical capability are included.
Partner with Platform Architecture to ensure appropriate technology governance including ensuring the technology delivery teams are adhering to our architectural principals as well as leveraging cross team solutions where possible.
Partner with Business Strategy to ensure alignment on future state capabilities and key strategic initiatives and of the firm.
Lead cross-departmental business and technology initiatives as required. For example, future state planning and implementation of our Datawarehouse strategy.
Monitor market and industry trends, build relationships with vendors and partners, gather insights, and make recommendations.

We’re Looking for Teammates With:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally asset management.
5+ years experience as a technical or enterprise architect within the financial services industry, ideally asset management.
Strong working knowledge of development best practices and software architecture.
Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms, AWS preferred.
Must be detail oriented with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent relationship building skills.
Familiarity with agile (e.g., Scrum) strongly desired.
Experience with architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
