  1. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. This is a classic, but that doesn’t mean the information is dated. This book will teach you how to get everyone on your side, in both personal and business relationships. If you’re working your way up the corporate ladder or simply have a standoffish co-worker, this is your go-to for how to deal with almost any situation.
  2. Getting Things Done by David Allen. This is all about increasing productivity and learning time management skills. The method described in the book is the process of moving planned projects out of your mind and breaking down big ideas into actionable work items. Get the revised version of the book that takes into account the rise of new technologies.  
  3. Start With Why is a book by Simon Sinek that explores the concept of inspiration and ideas, and teaches you how to take them to the next level. It includes three tests: the celery test, the golden circle, and the split test, which help you follow through with an idea.

  6. What Got You Here Won’t Get You There by Marshall Goldsmith focuses on the nuances that separate the good from the great. It’s full of straight-forward advice that tells you what to do and what to stop doing if you want to reach the highest levels of success.
  7. Who Moved My Cheese by Spencer Johnson is the perfect book for anybody working in a constantly evolving industry–especially a startup. It’s a guide for dealing with changes not only in life, but also in the workplace, through the viewpoint of two mice.
  8. Decisive by Chip and Dan Heath is a book completely focused on making decisions. This straight-forward guide will help you overcome natural biases, both conscious and sub-conscious, in order to make better and more informed decisions.  
  9. The One Thing You Need to Know by Marcus Buckingham is a book that draws parallels and highlights the commonalities between managing, leading, and business success. Whether in a position of management or not, this book will teach you what all successful business people have in common.
