Careers in IT Consulting

IT Consultants apply their specialized experience, knowledge, insight, and training to the problems of clients in every industry and locality. They may work independently or as employees of consultancy businesses. Purchasing and strategy decisions are issues an IT consultant may be asked to advise a company on. Some consultants work as short-term CIOs, offering expertise at critical times for a business. Increasingly, IT consultants work with service providers like systems integrators. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, such as computer science, with a minimum of 1 year’s experience.
