An organic synthetic chemistry/radiochemistry postdoctoral position is available immediately. The potential candidate should be a highly motivated PhD in organic synthetic chemistry. This position will focus on synthesis of small organic molecules for CNS disorders and other diseases. The postdoc will conduct the asymmetric synthesis of heteroaromatic analogues to obtain the corresponding enantiomerically pure isomers from racemic mixtures. Candidates must have experience with HPLC, NMR, IR, MS and other spectrometric identification of organic compounds. This position will receive training for conducting radiosynthesis of potential PET imaging probes and validating new PET probes in vitro and vivo.

Duties will also include writing manuscripts for publication and progress reports to the PI. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to access state-of-the-art lab equipment and departmental core facilities, as well as to the great research community in one of the top medical schools in the USA
- Ph.D. in organic synthetic chemistry with strong organic synthetic bench work experience;
- Good communication and personnel skills;
- Willing to conduct radiosynthesis of PET imaging agents.
