Columbus, Ohio area Major Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer is seeking a Wire Harness Design Engineer. This is an outstanding early career or entry-level opportunity for an enthusiastic team player! Responsibilities include making 3D designs and 2D layouts of automotive electrical wire harnesses from initial concept through mass production. This will include vehicle electrical systems and operations (Battery, Hybrid, BSI, Infotainment, VSA, Engine Control, Idle Stop, etc). Will also be responsible for detailed component calculations, investigating ways to reduce component cost and weight and conducting feasibility for packaging electrical components and mounting brackets throughout the vehicle. Additional responsibilities will include managing development projects, coordinating with other departments, suppliers and manufacturing, and analyzing components/parts of the wire harness to ensure that established layout/quality/cost/performance standards and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or a related field and a minimum of 2 years experience in an automotive environment including wire harness technology design, drafting with CATIA V5, and project management (setting & managing schedules, meeting deadlines, directing other groups to achieve development goals, etc.). Some minimal travel required. Will Relocate. NO H1B Sponsorship. Salary up to $75,000
