Job Description

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is currently seeking a full-time Wetlands Project Manager for our Omaha, NE Office. This individual will assist in managing the firm's DOT and local agency environmental projects. As Project Manager, this position is responsible for the quality of deliverable materials to state DOT and local clients. The position coordinates with other Wilson & Company offices to coordinate marketing, proposals, and work sharing.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee and lead preparation of environmental documentation, including NEPA documentation (CEs, EAs, and EISs): Section 401 and 404 permits; and Threatened and Endangered Species Survey Reports
  • Manage and conduct work to deliver product to clients on schedule and on budget; and
  • Conduct and/or lead fieldwork as it relates to project needs
  • Manage overall project performance and deliver projects to clients on schedule and on budget
  • Work collaboratively with other key staff to build client relationships in Nebraska

Required Skills

  • Exceptional technical writing skills
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Proven task or project management expertise with hands-on working experience authoring environmental documents and permit applications
  • Professional certification including PWS or CEP preferred
  • Must be proficient in MS Word and MS Excel

Required Experience

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree environmental sciences, transportation planning, environmental planning or similar discipline. Advanced degree a plus
  • 10 or more years' experience preparing NEPA documentation, preferably for State Departments of Transportation and other transportation projects and environmental permits (e.g., Section 404)
  • Working knowledge of other environmental regulations such as Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act. Transportation Section 4(f) knowledge a plus
  • Project experience working with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act including coordination with environmental regulatory agencies a plus
