Southwestern Energy is currently the third largest producer of natural gas in the lower 48 states and we operate one of the largest gas gathering systems in the United States. We own three major assets which are located in northeast Pennsylvania, West Virginia and southwest Pennsylvania, and in Arkansas’ Fayetteville Shale.

The Well-Site Supervisor will coordinate and supervise all aspects of completion operations. Duties include, but are not limited to, supervising completion rig operations, wire-line operations, stimulation operations, snubbing operation, coil tubing operations and various contractors. This position will report to the Completions Operations Leadership Team.


  • Responsible for the safe execution of well site operations according to SWN standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Assumes a leadership role in assessing operational problems and offers proper direction and consultation to aid those situations, while delivering on engineered well design.
  • Optimally schedules equipment and services to meet the schedules and minimize cost.
  • Directs rig all processes and efforts surrounding rig-up, mobilization and rig-down activities.
  • Informs Completions leadership of developing problems and offer positive solutions.
  • Completes well work reports and all well work reports timely, accurately and completely.
  • Communicates and work directly with regulatory and environmental agencies when required.
  • Communicates with the Completions Leadership and Engineering regarding developing shortfalls or problems and offers positive solutions.
  • Conducts operations in a safe, environmentally prudent manner and is respectful of the communities we work in.
  • Assist management by providing cost estimates as required.
  • Assists the Engineering in developing Authority for Expenditures (AFE) as required, while also ensuring invoices are coded and processed against appropriate AFEs in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Well Intervention Manager and Field Engineers in the post analysis/review of work over operations as required.



  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of oil and gas completions operations is essential.
  • A valid Driver’s License and current IADC or IWCF well control certification are required for this position.
  • Must be adept in mathematics.
  • Have a good knowledge of down-hole tools and their functions.
  • Must be able to understand the dynamics of down-hole and be able to visualize what is happening in the wellbore.
  • Must have at least 10 years of general knowledge/experience with computers and Microsoft applications.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.


  • A High School Diploma or GED is expected, bachelor’s degree is preferred.
