What Problem Is Postwire Solving?

If you're anything like us, you turn to Google first to answer a question. Google is pretty good at answering most of them, like "What's the difference between Git and Mercurial?" or "How do I properly stretch before jogging?" But when the question is more complicated, like researching the features for an complicated software product or learning the best rehab routine after your ACL surgery, you typically turn to an expert. The expert, in this case a salesperson or Physical Therapist, uses their experience to guide you to the best information to help you progress. The bad part about this interaction is that you may end up with an email containing a bunch of links or even worse, a folder full of paper handouts.

This is where Postwire comes in. Even with all of the advancements on the consumer web in social networking, collaboration, and sharing, the business world is still using email and paper. Postwire is a simple, visual, content management and sharing product that works a lot more like Pinterest and Twitter than email. We think its pretty cool and so do our thousands of users and hundreds of customers, many of them from the largest companies in the world.

In the last 10 months, we launched at TechCrunch Disrupt, we iterated on a killer user experience, and when we offered a pro pricing plan, about 10% of our users signed up in the first month. Our month-over-month growth is in the double digits across every metric. We've done all of this with a small seven-person team and now it's time to grow.

About The Role

We're looking for engineers to join our small product team. You'll be working with many of the latest technologies including python, JQuery, Bootstrap, Backbone.js, Flask, mongoDB, lucene, elasticsearch, CSS3, HTML5, iOS, and more. We're hosted at Amazon using Elastic Load Balancer, Ubuntu on EC2, S3, CloudFront, and a few other services. We're a near-continuous shop...we release at least once a day to production.

We don't expect you to have experience in all of these technologies, but we expect you to learn them pretty quickly. You should also:

  • Enjoy solving complex problems that aren't answered on StackOverflow.
  • Have a passion for technology, but applytechnology pragmatically and appropriately.
  • Enjoy autonomy in your work as nobody is going to tell you exactly how to solve every issue.
  • Have ideas on how to improve the product and business, and we will encourage you to test them in production asap.
  • Be confident while also humble.

We'll provide:

  • A commitment to teach you everything we know (as long as you teach us too).
  • An opportunity to contribute to the success and growth of startup at the ground floor.
  • Amazing transparency.
  • An equity stake in the company's future.
  • A salary that is within normal ranges (read: not Ramen salary).
  • The equipment you need to get the job done, including a fully-loaded Retina MacBook Pro, as many monitors as you need, and an iPad.
  • Health and dental coverage.
  • 15 vacation days that we will encourage you to take.
