What you will be doing:  

Your goal in this position is to be a developer and a business analyst for Steelcase.  You will learn about Steelcase business processes, understand what the business needs from technology, and then to create solutions that meet those needs.  You will work with high-caliber colleagues who will sharpen your skills of building industrial solutions that are flexible and powerful to meet ever-changing business needs.  You will be collaborating extensively with other IT professionals and with business leaders, building relationships with them.

You should have a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or some equivalent experience.  We prefer 2 years’ experience developing web or webservice applications, working with relational databases but that isn’t mandatory.  Candidates should have good communication and interpersonal skills and have experience working in team settings.


Your Future Team: 

You will be part of the Open Systems team, located in Steelcase’s business center in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  You will part of the Customer Engagement Team within Steelcase Information Technology department.  The team consists of 8 IT professionals.  We work with customers to define user stories, design and architect solutions, and execute projects from beginning to end.  The team works on projects in pairs to ensure cross training.  More and more of our solutions are cloud based, using Microsoft Azure.   We are often called upon to provide integration solutions between major software platforms like SAP and SalesForce.com.
