OverviewThe Junior Web Developer willassistin the design, development, and maintenance of web-based applications within the NAVSUP NEW ecosystem. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of senior developers to transform manual processes into intelligent digital solutions that improve Navy readiness.
Responsibilities
- Application Development: Support the full software development lifecycle forMyNAVSUPand other custom intranet/mobile applications.
- Maintenance & Expansion: Perform routine site audits and maintenance for theNEW environmentwhile scaling existing web properties to meet evolving business needs.
- Custom Coding: Write clean, efficient, and testable code using standard web practices (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for front-end and back-end integration.
- UI/UX Design: Create user-friendly interfaces and responsive layouts that ensure usability across various browsers and mobile devices.
- Collaboration:Participatein team stand-ups, code reviews, and meetings with stakeholders to refine technical specifications and project scopes.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and regression testing toidentifybugs and ensure software stability.
- Documentation:Maintaintechnical documentation, including design documents, deployment procedures, and user instructions.
Qualifications
- US Citizenship and Active DoD Clearance.
- Minimum of 3-5yearsof professional web development experience (Journeyman level), preferably in agovernment or DoD environment.
- Bachelor27s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- CurrentDoD 8570/8140 compliance (e.g., Security+ CE) is highly preferred.
- Foundational knowledge ofHTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience with modern frameworks likeReactorVue.jsis preferred.
- Familiarity with back-end languages (e.g.,PHP, Java, or Node.js) and databases (e.g.,SQL).
- Proficiencyin version control usingGit.
Preferred Experience
- Experience withDevSecOpspractices and automated workflows.
- Knowledge ofweb accessibility (Section 508)and web standards.
- Understanding ofRESTful APIsand integration with external services
Target Pay RangeThe below listed pay range for this position is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The final offered salary will be influenced by a host of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
