Overview:

The Web Developer supports the activities of the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command Software Engineering Center Enterprise Information Systems Directorate (CECOM SEC-EISD) Legacy Logistics Division, Food Systems Branch. This position builds and supports websites, web pages, and SharePoint sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for the design, layout and coding of websites.

Responsible for the technical and graphical aspects of a website, how the site works and looks.

Develops and integrates current solutions that meet customer needs (including customization), as well as future upgrades and workflows. Creates / debugs custom web parts.

Develops, adds, edits and monitors social media sites and information.

Identifies the target audience and type of content a website will host.

Writes programming code or adapts existing code and graphics packages to meet business requirements.

Properly documents code by including well written, clear and complete code comments.

Troubleshoots problems identified by users, and communicates solutions and program changes to technical staff.

Uploads the sites onto a server and registers sites with search engines.

Identifies, communicates, demonstrates and applies best Web development practices that utilize current and developing design principles and technologies. Demonstrates best practices in all phases of content management.

Recommends products, innovations and process changes to improve quality of service delivery and management of current SharePoint.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor's degree in Web Design / Development or a similar field of study and a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in application / database development; or equivalent combination of education / experience.

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge and understanding of software development languages (.NET, ASP.NET, C#, SQL, JavaScript, HTML 5 / CSS, Web, XML)

Skilled proficiency related to MS Access database management systems

Proficient working knowledge of Windows server administration

Proven ability to conduct network / application troubleshooting

Ability to interface and link SQL services to web based applications (ASP) and to utilize database management best practices

Operational knowledge of Web creation and development

Exceptional computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, etc.)

Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess business requirements

Ability to collaborate with others for the timely achievement of designated goals and accomplishments

Excellent verbal and written communications skills
