The Application Administrator III performs complex tasks required for maintaining and improving the hosted infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to deploying and configuring new hosted client environments from templates, diagnosing and resolving advanced infrastructure related application issues and performance problems, performing scheduled maintenance, responding to alerts and outages, and assisting with projects under the direction of the Sr. App Administrators. The Application Administrator III should be focused on developing a long term view of the hosted infrastructure and providing sustainable solutions to issues, and enforcing Hosting policies.

The ideal candidate will have experience with maintaining highly-available and high-performance web applications.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure and maintain web/application servers
  • Implement and upgrade Mitratech products
  • Establish and maintain documentation and standards
  • Deploy J2EE and .NET applications in Windows and UNIX environments
  • Maintaining and implementing data sources, SSL certificates, API integrations, and extensions of web the architecture.
  • Create, maintain, and use scripts to automate routine tasks and gather data for performance tuning
  • Monitor server and application performance, resource utilization, and assist the Sr. App Administrators and Systems Administrators in forecasting resource needs.
  • Install web Infrastructure application patches/fixes and plan/implement upgrades
  • Monitor server and web application server logs with a deep understanding of java application logging
  • Deploy J2EE and .NET applications in Windows and UNIX environments
  • Perform advanced problem determination and root-cause-analysis
  • Document technical environments, processes, procedures, test and project plans
  • Assist Development and Project teams in designing applications consistent with established architecture
  • Assist with capacity planning, architecting new environments, and long term resource forecasting
  • Participate in on-call rotation

 

Required Skills:

  • Five (5) years of experience in either Microsoft Windows or Linux administration
  • Three (3) years of experience with WebLogic, IIS, Tomcat or similar Application Server
  • Ability to communicate changes, author documentation, and train other personnel
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with networking, SSL certificates, application performance monitoring, and capacity planning tools

 

Education:                         

  • Bachelor degree in MIS, technical discipline or equivalent experience
