As a SoFi WealthInvestment Advisor, you will work with existing SoFi members and new customers to help them build and improve theirfinancial futures using SoFi Wealth andother SoFi products. This will include (amongotherthings):

  • Working with customers who would like to open an investment account to help them understand the offering, benefits, and account opening process
  • Providing advice on specific financial wellness, goals, and questions to our members
  • Discussing and explaining investment performance and decisions with current wealth members
  • Providing member’s operational support for specific investment-related questions and issues

In just the last year, we've more than doubled our member base (400,000 strong), hit a huge milestone of loaning $25B to our members, and grown our team from under 200 people to more than 1,250. We're preparing to go global, with expansion to Australia and Canada planned this year. And we're well capitalized to power all this growth, having raised $1.9 billion in equity backing. But we'll only be able to continue this growth with great talent, and that includes you.

Key responsibilities include

  • Support members over the phone and problem solve any operational or technical issues pertaining to SoFi Wealth products
  • Explain investment choices / decisions, asset allocation plans, goals and retirement projections as needed
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of member accounts with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Work with SoFi’s custodial platform as needed to open, fund, and transact in member accounts
  • Work with management and product teams to continuously improve operational processes and technical platforms to better serve our members
  • Assess the member’s financial situation and goals through one-on-one inbound calls and/or web chat sessions 
  • Work with members to develop individually tailored plans to assist them in reaching their financial goals
  • Provide advice to members on specific needs (e.g., buying a home, having a child)

 Requirements

  • Existing Series 65 or 66 license. Must acquire and maintain all necessary professional certifications required for the role. May be required to obtain additional certifications for advising services as applicable
  • College degreepreferred, but a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of two years of financial services experiencerequired, preferably assisting customers in a service environment. A background in financial planning, sales, finance, insurance, consumer credit or a counselor-related field is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills, and a customer service orientation
  • Deep understanding of financial concepts
  • Ability to identify, meet, and follow through with client needs and requirements
  • Self-starter, problem solver and a goal-oriented team player with a ‘no job is beneath me’ attitude; we are building a division and this will take grit!
  • Ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks efficiently
  • Organized, with strong attention to detail
  • Show curiosity and confidence when dealing with clients and able to ask for help when needed
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Meets evolving position objectives as defined by management

Plusses

  • CFP (or preparation for CFP)
  • Background in holistic / comprehensive financial planning
  • Experience using financial planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuidePro)
  • Health and Life Insurance License(s)
  • Credit Counseling License(s)
