WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER DESCRIPTION
The Water Resource Engineer position has a focus on managing surface water projects for the Alaska operation and throughout the national footprint of Michael Baker. As a Water Resource Engineer you will manage all aspects of multiple surface water projects. The applicant should have a good technical background related to surface water engineering and have project management experience.
•Manage client relationships and guide the application of Michael Baker services to best serve the interests of the client and Michael Baker.
•Be responsible for successful contracting and project execution, working closely with the surface water department manager and office leadership.
•Lead, assign and review work of the project delivery team and provide technical guidance and oversight; check work, progress and identify changes of scope and additional services to ensure quality project delivery.
•Some field work is required to oversee project execution, but the majority of the work days involve working in an office setting with other engineering professionals.
•5+ years of water resources engineering experience with at least 2 years of project management experience
•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other engineering discipline with water resources engineering experience, Master's degree preferred
•Demonstrated ability to lead an engineering project team including staff development
•Hold an Alaska Professional Engineer (PE) License, or the ability to obtain within six months through reciprocity
•Valid U.S. driver's license
•Must demonstrate excellent speaking, oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, clients and public officials.
