This is a key role that drives operational excellence, manage site/facility expansion, and increase overall performance and efficiency and coordinates closely Engineering, Facilities, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Receipt of GMP and non-GMP materials. Document receipt of GMP materials per SOP requirements.
- Direct oversight of material flow and inventory at 3rd party warehouse.
- Distribution of product and supplies to various departments and facilities.
- Disposal of materials per requirements of SOP and state/local regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring proper controls are in place for inventory, shipping, receiving, kitting, warehouse planning, equipment repairs, production, and order processing and are done in an efficient manner.
- Accountable for process discrepancies in the warehouse and provide technical expertise to improve procedures.
- Evaluate performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient work-flow processes.
- Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements by understanding and keeping up with existing and new legislation, advising management of needed actions.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with electronic inventory system.
- Coordinate with engineering to plan physical layout of warehouse and update design as needed.
- Accurately, expediently, and safely receive inbound materials
- Cycle count materials, investigate variances, and initiate purchase requisitions.
- Serve as first escalation point for receiving and provide guidance to junior staff.
- Maintain departmental training requirements in document management system and ensure staff are qualified and trained to perform their responsibilities.
- Train and coach material handlers supporting management in onboarding and professional development.
- Ensure all departmental work is performed in adherence with Iovance standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements initiating non-conformances and deviations, as necessary.
- Work with finance and supply chain procurement to reconcile purchase orders and packing slips.
- Develop and improve processes for Hazardous Material handling and disposal.
Education and Qualifications:
- 8 or more years GMP experience. Material handling experience in a highly regulated environment (GMP, GCLP, GCP, GLP, ISO, etc. preferred.
- Proficient in ERP/MES
- Experience and/or certification in operating material handling equipment preferred.
- Experience in setting up a lean warehouse
- Inventory Control experience (Cycle counting, physical inventories) preferred.
- Experience in developing procedures and technical writing
- 5+ years supervisory experience
- A can-do, customer-oriented attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Excellent organization skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to delivery results within reasonably established guidelines.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Must have experience operating a forklift.
