The VP, Technical Product Ownership role is a key leadership position reporting to the CTO. This leader will be responsible for connecting the technical platform to the business, working with teams across the enterprise (SAM, Operations, Home Delivery / Member Experience, Marketing, HR, Finance, etc.) to deliver products effectively and efficiently. This leader will manage a high-performing team in multiple delivery methodologies to deploy scalable customer products and operational platforms that meet revenue and profit goals for the enterprise. This role will lead technology product strategy and execution within technology to enable innovation and productivity across ESI


  • Deliver measurable business results through technology solutions that meet both market needs and company goals
  • Architect the future of ESI technical products by bridging technology and business needs, charting the Agile Product Ownership practice and by managing our technical product's full lifecycle, from strategic planning to development and launch to retirement
  • Consolidate strategy input from internal stakeholders across SAM, product, marketing, and operations to define a vision and strategy for the product roadmap and lifecycle
  • Develop thoughtful, customer-focused and innovative solutions to complex problems, inspiring stakeholders and enabling a robust and profitable product execution strategy
  • Ensure technical products have the right direction and focus to succeed internally and externally. Help launch new products and services in a customer friendly way; ensure business and sales can effectively represent the products, their strategy and roadmap
  • Develop outstanding, strategic relationships with internal customers' innovation and business teams in order to understand customers' product development and business processes
  • Identify, vet and prioritize current and new opportunities based on addressable market potential and competitive dynamics; collect, analyze and structure data to draw insights and support portfolio recommendations
  • Transform strategies into prioritized initiatives for the technology team. Define scope, guide decisions, and eliminate road blocks, enabling product owners to build great products
  • Lead the identification and implementation of business process improvements and optimization across lines of business and the organization
  • Quickly understand the business and needs to create, sustain and optimize a product organization
  • Serve as a key member of the IT leadership team in addressing corporate-wide issues, developing strategy, and building a culture of partnership and accountability
  • Recruit, motivate, engage and retain a highly competent and productive team.Create a working environment where operational excellence, innovation and personal growth are encouraged and realized.

Key Qualifications include:

  • BA/BS degree in a technical or management field (MS/MBA in a technical or management field)
  • Experienced product and technology leader in complex, regulated industry
  • Demonstrated track record for growing, evolving and leading teams
  • Agile product development experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in recruiting and retaining a top performing team
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to effectively manage shifting priorities
