Drive and Develop Long-Term Strategy and Vision for Billion-Dollar Healthcare Company

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the CEO, as the VP of Strategy, you will be responsible for the ongoing design, development and coordination of AMN’s corporate strategy as you also serve as a key driver in shaping AMN’s 3-5 year plan. You will work closely with senior business leaders to refine and drive AMN’s strategy for growth, innovation, engagement (digital and human-centered), profitability and market leadership. This role will work very closely with CEO Committee and Executive Committee members, senior leaders, and a variety of other internal contacts -- partnering with them on the development, implementation and monitoring of the key strategic vision, objectives and priorities of AMN.

Although strategy will be your primary focus, you will also be involved in other functions, such as M&A, business analysis, competitive intelligence, and more. You will oversee one direct report, an Executive Assistant.

Role Specifics

More specifically, your key job tasks will be to:

  • Formulate long-term strategic priorities and plans, analysis and recommendation related to emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, competitive dynamics, and internalbusiness performance improvement.

  • Lead projects focused on key strategic initiatives for AMN that improve and expand the company’s market position and achieve growth and financial profitability.
  • Analyze outlook of the industry, competitors, economy and regulatory to determine their potential impact on organizational goals and business outcomes.
  • Identify and develop key analytics/scorecard measures to inform decision making with focus on strategic planning cycles.
  • Develop, review and report on strategic priorities and business development plans including key scorecard measures to senior leaders and all AMN team members.
  • Provide thought leadership with respect to enterprise-level strategies and business development.
  • Facilitate the strategic planning process and drive the translation of strategic objectives into financial and operational plans for both short and long-term.
  • Build and deliver presentations regarding project direction and recommendations to the AMN senior leadership team.
  • Identify target opportunities for innovation, growth and enhancement.
  • Serve as a strong AMN Ambassador that nurtures relationships withnewly acquired entities.

The Ideal Candidate

To be a strong fit for this opportunity you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or equivalent.

  • An MBA is preferred but not required.

  • 10+ years of driving high-profile, strategic initiatives and/or business unit leadership. A background in FP&A, business development and/or operations could be an excellent fit for this role.
  • Experience solving complex business problems using a multi-disciplined, analytical and fact-based approach.
  • The ability to analyze macro and micro economic trends.
  • Experience transforming the strategy of an organization with a focus on engagement and client interaction.
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proven change management skills.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills across multiplelevels and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in the healthcare industry and/or management consulting is preferred but not required.

You should also be willing and able to travel as required to support the needs of the business.
