Technology is poised to impact healthcare like never before with exciting possibilities for patients and clinicians. Elsevier is leading the way in improving patient and clinical support with its innovative Clinical Solutions product set, the spearhead of Elsevier’s Healthcare Technology strategy, and we now require a VP, Software Engineering to lead the Clinical Solutions software engineering organization.

As VP, Software Engineering you will play a significant strategic and tactical leadership role. With a track record of delivering world-class software in various settings, from start-ups to large corporate environments, this is a highly technical role for a metrics-driven individual with refined interpersonal skills as well as deep commercial acumen. You will be a people leader, with the ability to recruit, build, inspire and retain high performing collaborative teams, strong leaders, and key contributors while promoting and shaping the organizational culture. You will enjoy full departmental budget and resource planning accountability, and product development and delivery responsibility. You will champion and drive a culture and execution of software engineering excellence. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to both technical and business strategy.

This role reports to the SVP Engineering for Elsevier’s Healthcare portfolio, and sits on the leadership team for the Clinical Solutions group. Comfortable with driving transformative change and experienced in leading a high rate and pace of new products and feature delivery utilizing leading edge technology, you will work in collaboration with product management leadership, and will lead a team encompassing SW Engineers, QA/QE, UX Design, infrastructure and project management in concert towards meeting business, delivery, and product metrics.

Previous healthcare experience is a plus but fundamentally you will bring a deep passion for software engineering excellence, data-driven decision making, understanding users, and for delivering recognizably world-class software products.

Success in this role will open up further career growth possibilities within Elsevier Technology.
