Overview

Responsible for analyzing credit requests, identifying credit risks, determining appropriate credit structures, and making sound credit decision recommendations. Responsible for banking qualified clients and loan opportunities for structured financeloan origination that meet the Bank’s credit policies and lending guidelines. This position requires a proven track record of lending volume in structured finance products.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for banking qualified clients and loan opportunities for structured financeloan originations that meet the Bank’s credit policies and lending guidelines.
  • Responsible for structured lending for commercial income properties, with heavy emphasis on multifamily properties.
  • Responsible for working closely with underwriting and the due diligence process
  • The Relationship Banker should be an established income property lender with many close contacts with income property investors and brokerage firms.
  • Responsible for working closely with underwriting and due diligence process and be responsible for analyzing credit requests, identifying credit risks, determining appropriate credit structures and making sound credit decision recommendations.
  • The Relationship Banker will work closely with underwriters and loan processors to assure a high quality client experience.
  • The Relationship Banker must be able to cross sell other Opus bank products as this will be required.
  • The Relationship Banker must also be able to assist in providing competitive market intelligence to management in order to fine tune product offerings and maintain profitability.
  • Responsible for adherence to all compliance programs, including but not limited to, completion of all required and assigned training modules by established due dates.
  • Understands and complies with requirements of all laws and regulations applicable to position.
  • May perform other duties.

Qualifications

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge and Skills:

Excellent credit analysis and accounting skills with ability to analyze and recommend loans that meet the Bank’s credit standards

High quality credit and analytical skills are required

Candidate has experience in construction, bridge and rehab lending products

Must be able to build compelling arguments to support recommendations, maintaining an effective balance between the sales/client objectives, with the need to maintain acceptable credit quality and profitability

Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in both verbal and written forms

Good organizational skills

Ability to assume responsibility and accountability for decision making

Works well independently and with teams

Strong knowledge of commercial banking policies and procedures and relevant regulatory guidelines

Must be proficient in a Windows environment, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business or finance or MBA is ideal

Minimum 5 to 7 years income property lending and credit experiencerequired
