This role is based in Boise, ID
Responsible for leading Compliance on all processes and functions involved in the Pets Best managing general agency for Pet insurance, including marketing, sales, customer care, claims processing and call center.
- Work with the business to ensure complete understanding of compliance requirements as they relate to business processes supporting the Pet's Best business.
- Implement the Synchrony compliance framework into the Pets Best business unit including documentation and/or development of of legal requirements, controls, risk assessment, testing, training and policy and procedure review.
- Ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are disseminated throughout the organization and are executed by the business consistently and correctly.
- Drive effective identification and management of compliance risks and issues, provide solutions, and assist in resolution and ensure proper escalation.
- Help the business embed effective tools, systems and controlsfor analyzing and monitoring regulatory risks; be an expert on appropriate controls and documentation of compliance management.
- Establish effective relationships with all functional areas.
- Lead Compliance Risk Assessment activities for the Pets Best product and processes.
- Analyze and report on key regulatory and litigation developments and their impact on Pets Best.
- Conduct targeted compliance reviews and continuous monitoring activities.
- Support regulatory examinations and other supervisory activities.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of Operations, Claims Management, Compliance or Risk experience in the insurance industry
- In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of Compliance, Risk, Operations or Claims Management experience in the insurance industry
- Experience reviewing, evaluating, designing and implementing key compliance functions, including risk-based monitoring programs and personnel training is required
- 4-year project management experience, working across cross functional teams and projects
- Proven Communication skills across all levels, including senior leadership
- Travel may be required up to 25%
- Experience working with Pet insurance
- Veterinary experience
- Property/Casualty Producer and/or Claims licensed
- Exceptional communication skills

- Demonstrated strategic and process skills with proven ability to execute

- Understanding of business systems & processes
- Good knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and policies
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 1033(E) Of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act Of 1994
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a "consistently meets expectations" performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance requirement).
