As VP People for this thoughtful and evolved organization, your focus will be to build a holistic people strategy and an infrastructure to support it and the very people who bring this company to life every day.

Reporting directly to the CEO & Co-Founder, you will work to implement the tools, frameworks and initiatives that both attract and retain/develop NYC/HQ based team members as well as distributed employees. To that end, you will work to identify the right tools and processes that will enable this stellar culture to thrive and scale as the company's distributed workforce grows.

This is a service-oriented company with values-centered people; as such, it will be your job to ensure that progressive policies that serve both people and business are at the core of how this function is built. Additionally and of equal importance, will be the role you play in helping to shape our business product. As the leading expert in all things people success, you will help us shape this amazing product which is changing the very way front-line employees all over the world are being managed, engaged, developed and rewarded.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all HR related activities, including but not limited to: talent acquisition, performance management; learning and development; organizational design; employee engagement; headcount planning; payroll and benefits (via PEO); compliance
  • Build out the infrastructure and team that will support the above efforts, at the appropriate pace
  • Actively participate in the direction of our business/product given its relevance in the people success realm – your input here will be invaluable as we build and grow
  • Help us to support our culture as our business focus deepens and our working environment expands to include an increase in distributed team members
  • Drive our TA strategy through management of 1 recruiter and hands on support when needed
  • Approach all initiatives from a fresh mindset with the appetite to build unique and impactful solutions
  • Articulate and market the Stella Connect employer brand and journey
  • Handle all employee relations issues with the highest degree of empathy and respect
  • Further define our compensation strategy as our business and talent evolves, utilizing best practices around market research and data
  • Work closely with company leaders to build trust and coach across a variety of areas of need

Qualifications

  • Functional and team management experience
  • Deep knowledge of and passion for tech enabled engagement, collaboration and productivity tools
  • Operational expertise in building/running or overseeing scalable People programs in successful businesses OR proven experience in parallel/complimentary function
  • Knowledge of and genuine passion for D&I programs and initiatives
  • Reporting expertise as a way to influence, innovate and drive change
  • Solid understanding of employee labor laws or the capacity to learn
