Role Summary/Purpose:

The Vice President, Payment Solutions Network Analytics will lead all analytics related to expanding the utility of Payment Solutions PLCC credit cards which is a key SYF strategic initiative.  This individual will lead a teamresponsible for providing strategic insights and analytics that drive growth via better data-driven decisions.  As a key member of Network cross functional teams, this individual will focus on improving online/offline acquisition efforts, optimizing Marketing communications/value props, and providing strategic thought leadership.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the cross-functional team to deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to improve all aspects of the customer experience
  • Deliver investment allocation, targeting/segmentation, product pricing, customer contact, and value prop strategic recommendations integral to the overall network strategy
  • Establish a continuous test and learn culture through ongoing assessment and communication of campaign results, root causes, and recommendations
  • Deliver digital insights and identify opportunities to effectively increase new accounts via SEO/SEM, paid search, targeted banners and social media tests
  • Apply advanced statistical methods to improve response, activation, profitability, and credit mix of the network card portfolio
  • Lead efforts to continuously develop compelling data-driven network selling points which is critical to network expansion
  • Enhance, refine, and simplify key metric reporting/dashboards for the most relevant and important key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Actively participate in cross functional meetings, articulating analytical process and key findings in a manner that enables, improves, and accelerates decision making
  • Distill and communicate key insights across all levels of the organization
  • Oversee and manage a team ensuring high-quality execution/delivery of analytics
  • Contribute to the success of team members by providing training and leadership in thought generation, analysis, coding, and mentorship
  • Manage a pipeline of projects/reports and their on-time delivery
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned


  • Bachelordegreerequired or in lieu of bachelordegree, 12+ years leadership experience in financial services, banking, technology, and/or retail industries
  • A minimum of 8years of analytics work experience to include:

    -3+ years of leadership/managerialexperience within the financial services or credit card payments

    -3+ years using statistical analysis tools such as SAS or R

    -2+ years leading large-scale analytics projects

Desired Characteristics:

  • Advanced degree in decision sciences/mathematics or related field is preferred
  • Financial services, retail, ecommerce or advanced marketing analytics industry experience
  • Strategic thinker with strong judgment and business sense
  • Demonstrated capacity to navigate multiple data structures and processes including warehouses, lakes, agile, etc.
  • Ability to simplify complex data sources into data insights and analysis
  • Strong executive presence and communications skills
  • Experience influencing internal and external senior corporate decision-makers
  • Demonstrated success leading a team with proven track record of delivering results
  • Excellent people leadership skills and a proven track record of developing high potential talent
  • Self-starter, high level of motivation and ability to work well independently as well as motivate and energize teams
