Role Summary/Purpose:

Serve as a strategist and internal evangelist across paid digital marketing media, with emphasis on SEM, Paid (Dark) social and display advertising. Grow existing campaigns while investigating and implementing new ways to profitably acquire new customers. Develop digital marketing capabilities to drive card acquisition and usage, integrate with Synchrony’s Enterprise Customer Engagement (ECE) initiative and leverage Data Management Platform (DMP) tool, Onboarder (LiveRamp) and Personalization Engine.  Partner with platform marketing teams to drive growth through external digitalchannels and Synchrony Financial (SYF) properties

Essential Responsibilities:

The VP, Paid Search will be a commercially-minded digital marketer who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment

  • Responsible for paid search media both managing internally and in partnering with Business Leaders to optimize spend and performance
  • Manage paid (dark) social campaigns
  • Partner with media and platform vendors
  • Responsible for integrating paid search and paid social platforms to plan and execute effective digitalcampaigns
  • Present media proposals to client marketing teams, platform digital mkt leaders and clients
  • Monitor the performance campaigns and optimize based on KPI’s
  • Collect and disseminate digital media specifications
  • Understand the technical build of all ad units


  • Bachelor’s Degree OR in lieu of degree, high school diploma/GED and 10+ years of digital marketing experience
  • 5+ years active paid search and/or paid social campaign management experience
  • Direct experience in paid search campaign build-outs, operation of bid management platforms such as Kenshoo, Marine, DS3
  • 2+ years demonstrated strength in analytical skills
  • Ability to travel20% of the time or as needed
