Summary

The VP of Operations will take full responsibility for the Nashville and the Riverside sites, from both strategic and operations perspectives. The role supports and manages improvement projects with own expert resources and, defines and rolls out Lean tools and practices; and is responsible for managing expenses, maximizing revenue and overall profitability. Additionally, the VP of Operations manages the Lean, Engineering, Quality and Facilities teams; and monitors, measures, and reports the results and sustainability of the continuous improvement efforts regularly to the executive team and the organization.

 

Role you will play:

?        Directs the operations of the Nashville and Riverside sites in support of the Company?s overall strategic goals.

?        Develops long-range objectives and strategies, monitors performance against these objectives, and provides feedback to site directors and team members.

?        Responsible for the overall strategic / tactical direction and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing profitability, productivity and efficiency throughout the US BU operations.

?        Oversees day-to-day operations to support the growth and add to the bottom line of the organization. Focus on strategic planning and goal-setting.

?        Coaches, directs and motivates a large and diverse team of people across production, logistics, warehouse/ inventory and fulfillment, to ensure employees are being challenged, motivated and rewarded, and that processes being used maximize efficiency and accuracy.

?        Supports the development of ModusLink?s Continuous Improvement culture across the US Business Unit by actively promoting and facilitating the use of continuous improvement methods to support new business and existing operations.

?        Drives change through focused continuous improvement efforts to higher levels of performance in quality, performance, cost, safety, and growth each and every day.

?        Provide direction and oversight to the lean, quality and engineering teams to make sure that they are applying the latest methodologies/tools, conducting root cause analysis and implementing automation.

?        Oversees space and equipment utilization, facility layout, capacity and staff planning, supporting rapid fulfillment and end customer shipments.

?        Leads the development and execution of strategy blueprinting, score-carding and key performance indicator action plans.

?        Oversees uniform application and enforcement of approved operating policies, procedures, practices and methods, in compliance with Company and Government regulatory rules and policies.

?        Establishes and implements performance measures like departmental productivity, accuracy, and safety goals. Tracks progress towards goals and provides regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against the site objectives to US BU GM.

?        Provides management and guidance for Facilities Management, including but not limited to facilities maintenance, vendor negotiations/ management, custodial services and office administration.

?        Ensures operational targets and KPIs are achieved, and where possible exceeded, through effective control, monitoring and review.

?        Prepares, secures approval for, and implements operating and expenditure budgets for department, and operate within those guidelines.  Accountable for all spending within the planned budget. This includes ?direct expenses (Labor Efficiency, Inventory, Waste, etc.) and ?indirect? expenses (supplies, utilities, leases, etc.).

?        Actively partners with process owners to ensure results delivered / future state achieved and ability to connect the dots in the Operations function.

?        Facilitates and executes Value Stream Maps & Kaizen Events through all stages (A3 charter ideation / creation, pre-work identification and completion, delivery of results, regular follow up and follow through on sustainment).

?        Develops advanced competency in wide range of engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards and coaches direct reports in the use and implementation of Quality Assurance, & Lean principles.

?        Develops/implements strategy to manage scope and meet customer expectations.

?        Accountable for the design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the QMS based on established company and/or industry standards. Oversees the implementation of a standardized corrective action system. Supports regulatory compliance and certification requirements.

?        Directs and coordinate activities in a manner consistent with established corporate policies and CSS objectives and be responsible for the site's overall results.

?        Strive to achieve world-class supply chain, warehousing, forward and reverse logistics operations.

?        Promotes ?total customer satisfaction? (delivery, quality etc.) within all Operations teams.

?        Accountable for performing monthly, quarterly and annual, head count and metric forecasting. Maintain and analyze historical data within modeled databases including maintaining accurate seasonal factors, holiday factors, etc.

Background Profile

 

?        Bachelor?s Degree in Business, IndustrialEngineering, Logistics or related field required.

?        Master?s Degreepreferred. 

?        15+ years of broad logistics, warehousing, distribution, fulfillment and supply chain management experience in progressively senior positions.

?        10+ years of experience in a leadership position with proven track record

?        Passion for continuous improvement and expertise in Kaizen leadership and Lean principles; Six Sigma or formal Lean training would be plus

?        Strong familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, preferably SAP

?        Data analysis and presentation skills, including familiarity Microsoft Office programs, including word, excel, vizio, power point & project.

?        Design and project engineeringexperience is highly desired

?        Experience managing employees in remote locationrequired
