What if business and consumers could quickly and easily access local products that were unequivocally good for humans and the planet? What if a company started a movement to fundamentally reimagine how people and cities view trees?
Cambium Carbon is an early-stage circular economy company reforesting America by enabling local wood economies. By saving fallen city trees from landfills, turning them into their best use, and channeling revenues into new tree planting, Cambium is creating this unexpected climate solution. This wood is currently used at small scales in cities across the country, but most of it ends up being wasted. This is where you come in! Urban millers and local woodworkers are not salespeople or marketers. They enjoy working with wood. Cambium Carbon’s job is to amplify their work and the potential impact of urban wood.
Supply exists in the form of millions of trees falling in US cities each year. By saving those trees, we save cities and private companies money, create local green jobs for people with barriers to employment, and can plant lots of new trees with communities traditionally left out new planting. Demand for local, sustainable, impactful products continues to rise. Cambium Carbon is building the unifying brand to connect these ends of the market by tech-enabling urban forestry more broadly.
A Unique Opportunity
Cambium Carbon is rolling out its Carbon-Smart WoodTM Alliance to highlight wood that is sourced locally, processed by local woodworkers and mills, and that supports community tree planting.
A thoughtful, moving marketing strategy and execution is key to amplifying this market and reaching meaningful impact across the country. This is an opportunity to build and execute the marketing strategy for an impact-driven startup working to change the world. You will be responsible for marketing products that are unequivocally good—locally sourced, locally processed, planting local trees. Products that enable systemic change, address social inequities by supporting workforce development programs in cities, and directly contribute to carbon sequestration.
