The VP Finance & Accounting will provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions and ensure company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • establishes financial objectives, accounting policies and procedures
  • consults with CEO on financial matters
  • financial statements presentation and preparation, both internal and external
  • budget presentation and preparation
  • cash management: bank negotiations, forecasts and investments
  • risk management: ensures there is adequate insurance coverage at the best price
  • reviews and appraises acquisitions accounting for maintenance and leases
  • directs the tax accounting activity, ensuring various tax returns and reports are filed appropriately
  • oversees costing activity & inventoryvaluation
  • supervises all phases of the accounting and purchasing departments
  • works closely with the MIS department to untangle and improve accounting programs
  • liaison between various departments

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • CPA required
  • minimum undergraduatedegree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • small family owned business experiencepreferred
  • 10 years experience at small to mid-sized manufacturing company
