PURPOSE:The VP, National Accounts is a strategic partner in developing and maximizing business relationships for CLS investments, LLC ("CLS"), a wholly owned subsidiary of NorthStar Financial Services Group, LLC ("NorthStar"). This position will assist in sales efforts to promote the growth and retention of assets for CLS' management services developing institutional relationships such as Broker/Dealers (B/D), Registered Investment Advisors, Registered Representatives, and critical contacts by assisting them in the use of CLS strategies for the benefit of their customers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT• Identifies additional business opportunities resulting in an increase in sales of CLS financial products• Partners with internal/external sales team to foster, uncover and generate sales opportunities, accelerate sales process and grow assets under management for CLS• Coordinates all essential activities that raise awareness of CLS products not limited to webinars, conference calls, presentations, home office meetings, etc.• Represents firm at partner conferences and industry related events• Networks with other third party money managers and other industry partners to deliver the best of all breeds• Builds relationships with Institutional Wholesalers and partners to proactively educate them on products and services available with CLS and NorthStar subsidiary companies• Profiles and prospects new institutions proactively in order to generate new business within assigned Business Line(s)• Manages Business Line sales funnel and positively impacts institutional positions within funnel• Leads round table discussions regarding CLS strategies during institutional visits and company sponsored meetings• Promotes frequent outreach to CLS company partners to help sales teams and facilitate teamwork between companiesSALES ADMINISTRATION• Maintains Sales, sales cycle, and sales funnel team dashboards in a weekly sales report to manager• Actively educates, trains and motivates all members of the key account team to think outside the box and deliver new sales and ideas to partners that will ultimately strengthen the relationship• Maintains accurate, up-to-date and detailed CRM database in relation to sales funnel, notes, calendar, appointments and other pertinent information• Maintains and meets budgetary requirements by maximizing travel for position and team• Conducts proactive meeting/appointment planning to include preparation, agendas and effective follow up, including conference critical contact and prospect leads• Attends POD meetings to communicate with team(s) regarding institutional relationships and activityENROLLMENT SUPPORT• Assists in enrollments/re-enrollments, workshops, presentations, marketing activities and key meetings with internal/external teamsMARKETING FULFILLMENT• Identifies and communicates marketing fulfillment needs for business line, as well as campaigns, sales ideas and other branding ideas• Educates Marketing and Sales teams on pieces that effectively launch successful campaigns and enhance brand• Assists with any conference CLS is sponsoring or attending; assists in regional road show set-up and follow-up• Follows- up with team on conferences to include critical contacts in addition to potential customersMay perform other duties as required and assigned.WORKING RELATIONSHIPS & CONTACTS• Frequent contact with key personnel of platforms regarding opportunities for partnership and collaboration to increase sales• Regular contact with Wholesalers and internals for coordination and creation of sales opportunities• Regular contact with vendors, representatives or clients regarding problem resolution and to ensure accurate new account set up and timely transfer of assets• Contact as needed with Marketing regarding fulfillment needs and campaign ideasKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:• Knowledge and understanding of 1940 Act, NorthStar Companies and the marketplace, competitors, key partners, and the general financial industry• Ability to provide exceptional customer service to ensure high customer satisfaction• Ability to develop public speaking skills to effectively host various presentations• Ability to recognize business opportunities• Ability to act with professionalism and diplomacy when communicating with a CLS partner and/or customer• Ability to troubleshoot issues utilizing creative and critical/analytical thinking skills• Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail• Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment• Ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and address competing priorities• Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook• Fundamental sales skills required: negotiation and persuasion, up-selling, closing, follow-up, and networking in order to persuade others of the value of a product• Strong written, listening and verbal communication skills, as well as effective telephone skills• Effective problem solving, time management and organizational skillsEDUCATION:*• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field required• Series 65 License (or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment) requiredEXPERIENCE:*• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial services/Broker-dealer-related role required*Equivalent education and experience will be consideredTravel is required up to 30-40% of time and involves occasional/frequent weekend and evening work, including overnight travel.
