Vice President, Global Sourcing & Procurement
The Vice President of Global Sourcing and Procurement provides strategic and tactical leadership for Mercury Systems direct and indirect material purchases. Therole has responsibility for all procurement policies, category strategies (direct and indirect), and overall optimization of Mercury Systems procurement spend. Theposition will lead all sourcing efforts achieving scalability and growth. Organizational objectives broadly include quality, delivery through securing dependable/sustainable sources of supply, cost savings, and inventory reduction. The position will also drive the one stop solution for all global process including Approved Supplier List (ASL), standard terms, conditions and subcontract templates for the company. Major activities will be to define sourcing strategies aligned with the BU needs, represent the business on all sourcing initiatives, achieve and improve material productivity (PPV) targets, engage in NPI and growth initiatives & help with winning strategies overall. Lead the path in deploying and excelling in supply chain management and aim to significantly reduce fragmentation and risk in the supply base. Drive supplier consolidation strategies especially post M&A to achieve synergies and aligned withcategory strategies. Ongoing supply base rationalization both direct and indirect material. Lean deployment if purchasing processes and supplier performance improvement initiatives to support business and functional objectives.
Key Position Responsibilities & Success Factors Include:
Develop procurement strategies to significantly improve product delivery & quality while reducing supply risk
Develop supply base rationalization strategy & implementation roadmap working with BUs and engineering
Enable scalability and growth through high level of supply base responsiveness, flexibility & agility
Transform indirect procurement and significantly reduce spend as % of revenue
Develop an effective management system aligned with Mercury Systems Lean Operating System
Collaborate with engineering, marketing & sales organizations toward winning strategies for growth
Integrate, manage & optimize material spend and synergies in the regions Mercury Systems
Define and drive direct and indirect material cost reduction plans and achieve YoY productivity
Partner with Engineering, Finance and Manufacturing leadership to achieve cost reduction targets through VAVE
Develop systems/processes to achieve on-time supplier deliveries partnering with supplier performance org
Assess organizational capability and competency and develop plans to close gaps including LMS modules
Prioritize projects and activities for the supplier performance management organization
Develop major subcontract management processes, capabilities and systems
Execute contractual agreements working closely with the commercial organization to assure flow down
Partner with BUs to enable collaborative commodity strategies aligning with theBU needs to grow
Ensure purchasing savings and productivity goals are achieved and aligned withbudgeted objectives
Partner with BUs to deploy fit for purpose functional initiatives to drive improvements
Required Qualifications, Attributes, Experience & Education
Manufacturing, sourcing, quality, lean manufacturing knowledge and experience
Category management experience with significant knowledge of electrical and electronics commodities
Working knowledge of purchasing systems and analytical tools as well as ERP systems (Oracle knowledge a plus)
Demonstrated experience deploying purchasing and material management policies
Integrative thinking and leadership influence through highly engaging and energizing competency
Excellent change management, OD skills and global mindset. Highly engaging and energetic
Demonstrated ability to create/execute a vision aligned with the larger organizational objectives
Ability to effectively implement changes in a large organizations. Prior experience leading in a matrix environment
